Shining Tor is the highest peak in Cheshire at 559m, and is relatively accessible being a short walk from the A537 Cat and Fiddle pass.
Views from the summit on a clear are stunning, and cover the Cheshire plain and beyond. This image was taken from Shining Tor’s summit on an extremely cold mid-winter afternoon, on the horizon to the left is Shutlingsloe, known locally as the Cheshire Matterhorn!
If you are in the area why not see for yourself?! – for further info see my Cheshire Walking Guide.
